Focus on handwork

NEW! In early May we went to the H & H Americas trade show in Chicago in hopes of finding new embroidery ideas to bring to Quilt Corral. Over the next few newsletters we will showcase all the fun projects. 

Matchbox Cross Stitch kits

Everything you need is in the kit to make a cute cross stitch design finished in a tiny embroidery hoop. Use it as a purse charm, ornament, to hang on a cupboard knob, or just to make for fun! The lovely designer from the UK said some customers shop by the motif, others by the saying on the box!

Tiny Tin Wool Pincushion Kits

The traditional 10th anniversary gift is either aluminum or tin. In celebration of 10 years, we are including a kit in little tin.

Everything you need to make a very cute wool pincushion is in the tiny tin. Designed to hold small scissors, needle threader and a bit of thread or floss (those items are NOT included), store the pincushion in the tin for travel (there is "head space" for the pins and needles to stick up) or when in use, the clever built-in magnet will hold the pincushion in place on the top of your tin.

Carol's favorite of the electric seam rippers. She's tried lots of them but loves this version because it has a headlight and the teeth are very narrow for precise ripping.

In Memory

Doris Martin, who was Barb's mom and Carol's mother-in-law passed away on May 30, 2026. She was always interested in the activities at Quilt Corral and loved seeing our sample quilts. For many years, whenever Barb was here, she'd bring work home at night and her mom helped fold, sort and package Block of the Month kits, Fat Quarter Bundles and regular kits. If you got a kit from us that had perfectly folded and arranged fabrics, it was quite possibly one she worked on. 

Her funeral will be on Friday June 12, 2026 at 11 AM at St. Monica's Church in Willows.

Veteran's Quilt Project

We appreciate everyone who has been sewing for our local veterans. Thank you so much!
